London meet up - Saturday 7th August - A cause for optimism

Post by verbal gymnastics »

At last - a cause for optimism!

A London meet up has been arranged for Saturday 7th August from 2pm when all restrictions should have been lifted, coronavirus will almost be a thing of the last and we will all laugh about how we got through the lockdowns as well as sharing our Joe Wicks stories and banana bread recipes and we might even mention Elvis.

In celebration we are even changing the venue to The Grocer in Spitalfields which Sheeptotheslaughter will sacrifice some time to book. He’ll be checking in advance if the pub’s beer is up to scratch!

We will also celebrate sheep’s 60th birthday.

Come one come all!

I am actually off work the two weeks leading up to the meet up, so my review might be out of date before we get there :D :D

Lets just book it and be devils.

The good news it looks like England will now be open well in time for the meet up. There is even some speculation we might be open on 5th July

Sorry I’m going to miss this one. Back living in Europe - let me know if any of the gang make it over to Prague.

Wow - blast from the past 8)

Shame you can’t make it. You are a founding member and we’ve had many an afternoon on meet ups from before some of these whippersnappers were even on the forum

Hi all,

I'm going to get there for 1.30pm, as I have to leave by about 4pm. So if anyone can make it that early, cool.

If not, I'll just read a book!

Twas a great day with 12 of us - it was a shame some of our regulars couldn’t make it and that some of our great posters have not made it yet (if only to pick up one of Sulky’s fantastic CD sets).

It’s been fantastic in the last few years that the number of ladies is matching the number of males, bringing some sense to the male inane ramblings.
