Detour - screen showing in New Hampshire, July 23 '16

Post by sweetest punch »

"Detour Live At Liverpool Philharmonic Hall" will be released on the 2nd November 2015 at selected Cineworld Cinemas.
Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BV3W_GVzW3w

The cult singer-songwriter revisits his back catalogue in this nostalgic concert film. Elvis Costello is one of our most loved singer-songwriters. For nearly four decades, the man born Declan MacManus has been behind some rock and pop's most enduring songs, including Oliver's Army, Accidents Will Happen, I Can't Stand Up for Falling Down, Watching the Detectives, Pump It Up, I Don't Want to Go to Chelsea and Alison. In this nostalgic and joyous film, recorded at Liverpool's Philharmonic Hall, Costello revisits his back catalogue as well as performing covers by Brinsley Schwarz, Cliff Edwards, Charles Aznavour and Sam and Dave.

150 minutes is 8 minutes longer than the reported length of the show. I hope they really are putting out the whole thing.

Was Larkin Poe's set filmed as well? Perhaps their set will be the equivalent of the film they used to show before the main attraction (see what I did there? ).

It's a bit blurry but the poster seems to say this was directed by a Benny Trickett

His instagram account seems to back it up - I'll have details of his favourite breakfast cereal by the morning

Inquiries being redirected - Benny just told me via Twitter - 'I edited the film, Joss Crowley directed it.'

Has anyone managed to find this running in their nearby "selected cinema"?

I've assumed it'll air at the Cw in Liverpool, but all my efforts to confirm this have been confounded!

I looked at the seating plan for the Didsbury Cineworld and ONE seat has been booked. Is it someone on the forum? I am thinking about going though it's an hours drive at least. Anyone else??

I will be at West India Quay this evening, and ticking off the songs against the concert setlist on the Wiki. I'll have my stopwatch ready too to note how long it runs.

I would expect some extra material on the DVD release - maybe interviews or songs cut from the cinematic release.

Any sign of a cinema release outside the UK and Eire?

Cineworld Liverpool for me and Mrs TB

Expect to have a very good choice of seat, wonder how this business model works?
