Re: Alternate "My Aim is True" w/ Attractions ?

Another likely fictional detail is listed for 2002 ... these song titles are alleged to be unreleased songs written for T-Bone Burnett and Elvis Costello's proposed television show about a girl-band comprised of supermodel superheroes: "Bad Wig", "Clockface", "Why Isn't Ever...

Re: Alternate "My Aim is True" w/ Attractions ?

EC and the Attractions did record tracks in Cornwall on that day - but only because they were rehearsing stuff for their live gigs. If you've heard the recordings you'll know that they were not really quite good enough to be released, so for sure EC is having a laugh.

Re: Elvis & The Sugarcanes, Cactusfestival (Belg.), Jul 10,

I'm going to the Cactus Festival. I'm going to the North Sea Jazz festival the next day as well.

I know two other people who are also going to see EC at the Cactus Festival. So that makes 4, so far.

Re: Elvis on new Steve Nieve album?

Also, curious about the fact that, according to this, Steve sings on these recordings. Anyone know what his voice is like? I can't remember who sang on Mad About the Wrong Boy. Steve did sing on his "Mumu" album. It's mostly harmless. As for as the singing on "Mad About the Wrong Boy...

Re: Who has the rights to Costello's Lyrics?

"Veronica" was co-written by Elvis Costello and Paul McCartney, so you've got two composers to deal with. The rights to Costello's songs from the Spike album (and indeed all his songs throughout his career) are handled by Plangent Visions , the last time I checked: Plangent Visions Music 2...

Re: Elvis Costello: Twist and turns trivia

Elvis has one Grammy (with Burt Bacharach) for "I Still Have That Other Girl" which was in 1999. As for nominations, there are quite a few. I will list them all because otherwise you may think I am wrong. The years listed indicate the year that the award was presented: 1979 - Best New Arti...

Stony?

It's not a cover version, is it? Something he did live? I'm fairly certain that there are no Elvis Costello penned songs with the word "stony".

Re: Best EC Album of the Past 10 years

Your great talent is in writing literate, witty, Beatles influenced rock and roll songs that work well within your vocal limitations. You should, by the way, take a look a footage of George Jones, Tony Bennett and Smokey Robinson, just to name a few, literally cringing as you sing along with them t...

€13.99? I paid €19.99! There was a "special edition" version in a digipack that was €21.99 (no extra tracks so I passed). People in the UK and Australia think CDs are expensive there - but €19.99 equals: $35.32 Australian dollars (new release CDs in Australia typically cost between $20 and...

The packaging is really good. Very nice booklet on high quality paper - not the usual paper used in CD booklets, but really good paper like in a hardcover book.

Great album. Some of EC's best vocals in a long while.
