Sorry, Blue.

One advantage of living near NYC is that EC usually shows up. You'd think with a Canuck as a wife, he'd show up in your neighborhood, though.

Elviscos1, you're right that EC doesn't ALWAYS play two dates in NYC, but he has done it more than twice. For example, when he toured with the Imps for WIWC he did two nights at the Beacon. (It was the second night he played Riot Act when -- of course -- I went to the first night -- see the thread a...

Just one night in NYC? Usually he does two. Oh well. Can't wait for tix to go on sale.

Anyone want to guess if Ray Nathanson shows up?

I'm with Oily. Riot Act. I've seen him many times and heard most of the songs that I really want to hear (like I'll Wear it Proudly) at least once. The only one I have not yet heard is Riot Act. After that, maybe Lipstick Vogue or I'm Not Angry. Of course, there are some songs you didn't THINK you'd...

THANKS! Sort of like a "Show Me Your T*ts" (or Johnson) button sported during Mardi Gras in New Orleans, I suppose.

Burning EC Lyric Question

What the heck is a "kiss me quick hat"? Specifically: "Got back to London "Picked a paper from the mat "No words of consolation "Just cartoons and chitter chatter "Well well, fancy that "Millions murdered for a KISS ME QUICK HAT "No backbone, blood and gu...

Does anyone know if I can download a song (i.e., She's Pulling. . .) from iTunes and play it back without an iPod or Apple software? I did not find She's Pulling on either Musicmatch or RealTunes (both of which are compatible with my music players).

I think you are onto something, Sweet. Perhaps this release is to scare up more sales based on the Grammy buzz. I'll probably buy it, though, at least to get She's Pulling. . . . I'll let Rope know if my delicate American psyche suffers any adverse affects from listening to it. But I have to agree w...

But still no "She's Pulling Out the Pin" in the US? It doesn't look like this release will include it.

Well, Steve and Pete happen to be in the RnR Hall of Fame, Dave isn't. . . . Could we replace Dave with Bruce? EC has worked with many great musicians. In some cases (King of America in particular) with execellent results. I'm not as keen on MLAR, Spike, and KV, though. I suppose I could part with P...

What do I know, I like Glitter Gultch. . . . I have to say, Ivy does kinda, well, grow on you. I really like the guitar solo. If I re-ranked TDM again in a month, I may put Ivy higher. (I'm pretty sure TDM would stay dead last, though.) For me, anyway, some of these songs sound better after having h...

I haven't heard She's Pulling Out the Pin, so I can't include it. . . . 1. Either Side of the Same Town (maybe I'm glad we lost a few months' posts, I had said that I liked the Howard Tate version better, but I've since changed my mind. Maybe I shouldn't have reminded anyone. . . .) 2. Bedlam (great...

Does EC buy off the rack? The sleeves of his leather coat are too long!

I noticed during the first show at Lincoln Center his jacket was too long for him, and that he would close his hand and grasp the sleeve in his hand.

EC must have enough dough to retain a decent tailor. What gives?

Gee, I only have 7 of these, and that is if you count the Smiths as Morrissey.

If you add up stuff my brothers had (or stole from me) in vinyl when I was a kid, the number goes up significantly.

But wo cares about such lists except as a laugh?

Well, there IS the Blind Boys of Alabama and John Fogarty are being released that day too.

Also, the Shark Tales soundtrack, which, if the trailers are any indication, will include Pump It Up.

Neat link. Thanks.

As one article recently posted on this board points out (and as any of us who have seen him in concert can attest), EC's hairline is receding. Perhaps that's why he often wears hats.

Wardo, I'm talking about the Rhino full CD reissue. I don't have the Ryko version, but typically they put 4 or 5 songs on. In this case, I think it would be preferable.

And yes, I am going to listen to Slow Down a few more times.

OK, so I want back and listened to the Trust bonus disc again. There are some good things on it, but as a whole, I do not think it is as good as some other bonus discs, like the AB disc. I find myself skipping through songs about half-way through them, which I typically never do on an EC disc. The o...
