Re: 'Lost Highway will release Momofuku from Elvis Costello'

Had an email from HMV online today to say MF (OK Mr Pope !) to say they were "out of stock " but would be posting the said vinyl as soon as possible. Now out of stock always struck me as being the same as sold out but that patently isn't the case here. Hope Favehour has a great time tonigh...

Re: Looking for recording of April '78 Costello show

Oh, well said Charlie . I've got about 1500 Costello live shows and I've uploaded about a dozen to dime but I've become really cautious because there are some who are incredibly precious about the state of the recording. I refuse to go to a concert and not clap or cheer so that my bootleg recording ...

Re: Looking for recording of April '78 Costello show

Hi John,
I've got both an audience recording of this (on cassette) and the bootleg Accidents LP, I'll willingly record one or both if you want, Best wishes,
David Palmer - and I'll see you in Liverpool in June !

Palomino 16 Feb 1979

Elvis Costello And The Attractions at the Palomino Club, Hollywood 16 Feb 1979 I've recently uploaded this to dime, taking out the tracks that were apparently reissued on the Get Happy and Almost Blue Rhino reissues. However there seems to be some debate as to whether or not there were 2 shows playe...

Did the only 2 Ec shows this year so 5th July in Liverpool and 7th July at The Tower Of London.
And I have the feeling these were Elvis' last gigs here for a long time ( or until the child maintenance orders kick in !)

Like BY, the bass swings it for me and the consistency of songwriting and performing from Opportunity to High Fidelity has nothing to match it in any performer's repertoire - even Sgt Pepper had Fixing A Hole half way through ! After that B&C, Trust, IB,PTC,,AB,KOA, GCW with Spike bringing up th...

Really hard choice between ATUB, MLAR and BY. ATUB is such a mature album but there is an element of sobriety about the Attractions that seems to undermine the performances. BY, like B&C seems much more of a bastard of an album and has, of course, the sublime bass lines of Mr. B.T. on 13 Steps a...

I don't know what Elvis thinks or feels,. I'm sure he hides much of his true feelings in even the most "open" of songs. However, I do believe the man who wrote "I want to bite that hand that feeds me, I want to bite that hand so badly" is now slobbering and fawning over those sam...

Configurations

And what about the Live Stiffs, like Neat Neat Neat with Davey Payne on Sax and the extra drummer seen playing Detectives in the Live Stiffs film ? Oh and the start of the 2nd US tour in May 1978 when Bruce was still cut and the bassist from Clover played for afew gigs (John Ciambotti ?)

Spectacular singing songbook

I can see the next dime upload will have to be one of the UK shows. i attended 2 of the first 6 Royalty shows, which were the solo show and the spinning songbook and the infamous chap asking for his money back after 3/4 of the solo show ( how come it took so long to work that one out). On my recordi...

Now all the people who know VG will smile because they are assured he won't let a good pun (or a bad one) pass without hammering home the point. At least he didn't whistle any Sergio Leone tunes (I bet I've spelt that wrong) when Mr Eastwood came out. And just to whet your appetite, guess who wound ...

Ah yes where the limo for Mr Eastwood had a flat tyre which was kicked a few times by a gorilla in a suit and VG said (not once but twice, note)
Pump it Up !!

I've been told by Neil J that we're to pick up our tickets on the door (which is a bit of a scary prospect) but I'm leaving quite early in the afternoon to give me enough time to hide the car and ensure we've got the tickets OK. As for comments about verbal gymnastics, let his posts be my evidence !...

But once again, a plea from the heart -Don't Sing It ! Apparently the Indigo is now being knocked down to provide a refuge for Polish workers building the new Olympic Stadium so Elvis definitely won't be singing Lovers Walk for the marathon, Beaten to The Punch for the English boxing team and of cou...

So my output is up and my typing is slow ( and frequently inaccurate) like someone's pitch I might add. I'm in the throes of uploading more EC from the files and thought I'd do Columbus 15 March 1979 (guess why ?) but the quality is pretty poor. Has anyone any particular favourites they'd like to se...
