If it wasn't for the tooth gap I'd say they are related.

Wow.

Yes, you're both right, it is best to ignore. But, really...wow!

On behalf of all relatively sane Virginians, my apologies! I second that. Although I am lucky enough to attend school in lovely Massachusetts (even though the ballot question about selling wine in supermarkets was voted down and it made me sad), I voted absentee in Virginia. And what a tense race i...

Man, I always find these threads too late. But for future reference for anyone visiting DC, a fun place to visit is the Exorcist steps in Georgetown. If you're crossing the Key bridge turn left and there will be an Exon gas station on the right. The steps are right next to it. You and your friends c...

Yes, it was a lovely show. The venue was very small; I would say about the size of the 9:30 club in DC. I could still see quite well from the front of the lawn. I loved the banter between Ms. Partland and Elvis, both are so witty and articulate. She even improvised a piece on the piano about him; it...

Thank you, john, for posting this. And thank you, scielle, for bumping it up to the near present. (I missed it the first time around.) I just bought my tickets; lawn seats are all that are left, but hoooray! I'm just happy to be able to go! :D

Wolf Trap- June 15

Sadly, I cannot make the Wolf Trap show; I will be in Phoenix "it's a dry heat!" Arizona for a summer internship related thing. So, with a heavy heart I am offering up my two tickets, front orchestra, row S, for face value. If anyone is interested, PM me.

Well, I think "Sweet Home Alabama" is an appropriate pick. I heard somewhere that it is a tribute to George "Segregation forever!" Wallace.

I'm happy that he mentioned my hometown. Yay, Flint! :D (Seriously, it's nice to see Flint mentioned in an article that has nothing to do with plant closings, poverty, or any of the other awful things they have had to endure. ) Back to the matter at hand: But would't it have been great if Bing...

Roommate Rant

I must get this off my chest. Everyone I know (friends, family, classmates) have already heard about it, and it's still bugging me. Now is the time for some cleansing... So I have a roommate. She is kind of annoying, but we leave each other alone (for the most part) so it is a peaceful co-existance....

At 7 this morning I was making coffee and my roommate started chatting at me. When and how would one consider it acceptable to start a conversation about nothing at 7 am with a person who is preparing coffee? And why the hell is my roommate so perky at that ungodly hour? **not so much of a random th...

I'm not Mexican by birth, but my grandmother was, so as a person of Mexican ethnicity, yes, of course I am moved by Dr. King's speech. And I think a lot of that is becuase of my ethnic background. I love the idea of people of all races and ethnicities enjoying equality and love. If my parents had be...

CD recomendation

I'm going to New Hampshire tomorrow, for no other reason than because I've never been. To mark this momentous occasion, I would like a new CD to listen to in the car. Does anyone have any ideas? I will take suggestions for any genre and any time period.

Thanks so much!

It was an idea that he dandled on his knee

Again, not a pun, but hardly an example of his best word play. I adore that song, but those two lines aren't up to par.

I got on the bus Monday morning and the driver was listening to "My Aim is True". As I was about to exit the bus on campus, I turned to him and told him it was good to know I'm not the only Costello fan at UMass (most of the bus drivers are students). He replied "No way! The guy's ama...

"There is Power in a Union" by Billy Bragg. I love that song! It's so much better than "Solidarity Forever" athough that is a classic. As a Labor Studies student and Union member, it's like the soundtrack to my life.

"Let's bounce this around".

Oh, and any form of "self actualization" is annoying, especially with reference to an object. Last week my law professor said that with reference to a case.
