Re: Elvis and Diana at exclusive screening of “The Beatles Get Back”
When Apocalypse Now! was released Francis Ford Coppola said that the NME review of the movie (I think by Paul Du Noyer) was the only critique that truly grasped his vision. One of many examples of the standard at the time. A shame that some turned out to have feet of clay PdN is indeed a great stor...

We were likely in that group. Great - hope my 'singing' didn't put you off too much! Our suitcases had all sort of LFC kit packed in on the way back. I actually made it to the Liverpool show last year just before lockdown. Great room and a great concert. Hi G - where in the venue were you ? I was second row centre front, loads of Americans around me, were you one of them? He played "Turning the Town Red" for the scouser crowd.. It was ...

Well there is a saying "never meet your heros..." I think my primary relationship with the professional musician Elvis Costello is as a consumer of his wonderful product which has been marketed via interviews etc over the years. Somehow the post-gig wait - fruitless on occasions - at the s...

Re: The Boy Named If, new album by Elvis & The Imposters, January 14, 2022
I was initially interested in going to the 'signing' event in Manchester, but when it turned out that you would be paying a fortune for a wristband, which would entitle you to queue for ages, and then there were all kinds of restrictions on how long you'd be with Elvis, no selfies, no dialogue, all...

Hi H this is a great idea, unfortunately I am existing in the land of Caution Beyond Caution so won't be able to partake myself for the foreseeable. However judging from past gatherings in the margins of ECs shows here in Liverpool, and it's satellites, EC has plenty of Friends in't. A career low point, I think. What next? Celebrity Masterchef? Dancing on Ice? I admit I shared this view, however a quick decco at the website tells a different tale and perhaps one which explains our ( previously loudly anti-Royalist ) hero's participation : The Royal Variety Charity stems from 19...

Re: Famous Elvis fans
Admittedly just on a level below BA/VG/JF and SL (aka Glyn Johns) , I recall Jo Brand saying that avidly following EC has lead her to spend a small fortune on multiple purchases of the same music, suckered in via the myriad coloured vinyl editions and endless re-issues. Clearly one of us. Also Maria...

Re: We're All Cowards Now
My question is…how did Elvis come up with perfect songs for a dystopian lockdown before the boot actually fell? Is he psychic, or did his elite friends clue him in on what was about to happen? Hmmm? Viva Van Morrison. We are of course each welcome to our own opinion. Welcome to mine : this post is ...

Therefore, the best and only option is to re-list them for sale is of course absolute *ollocks , surely to try to sell tickets for something which doesn't exist is attempting fraud? Wikipedia lists several examples of such : In February 2018, Viagogo was found to have been marketing tickets for a n...

Re: Steve Nieve & Ajuq present "Stories of Love" tour
Few of us from this Board saw Steve open Liverpool Philharmonic's Music Room in October 2015 with an Elvis-heavy show including imput from AJUQ. This looks a similar event but perhaps with less EC. I would recommend attendance wholeheartedly for anyone who can get there!!!
