I think there's beauty in Dylan's voice in how he seems fearlessly indifferent about judging its 'quality'. He just sings and however it comes out is however it comes out -- pure and extremely expressive. He accepts any and all possible uglyness so fully that in the honesty of that he manages to mak...

The Unforgetable Fire and All That You Can't Leave Behind - U2. If the latter had been put out by an unknown band, everyone might be far more amazed. New York.. New York... so poignant.

How anyone can describe someone else as more imaginative, I don't know. Imaginative in different ways, sure, but not more. Aw come on Otis, I stated it as an opinion not a fact. Ok, I appreciate how Dylan expresses his imagination, more. It captures mine most, out of the three. BC, I'll look out fo...

I think Dylan is by far the most imaginative.
Springsteen second, and I don't know a lot of Bowie. Just been listening to Diamond Dogs and Pin Ups though. Can't get his Here Comes The Night and Growing Up (bonus Bruce track on Pin Ups) out of my head.

His work also means a lot to me.

Some backlash from the ignorant* is understandable, but in the end it's irrelevant.

purify the senses

Only a bit at a time, I suppose.

All I know is that what is unknown is vast even if a lot of it is knowable (true), and I try to be pragmatic.

...and that The Rising doesn't suck.

He's no match for Chuck Norris in the idiot stakes... or Chris Isaak for that matter. One true thing: I could learn a foreign language between EC reissues. Yes, the truth may change, but the truth is always the truth. Something that was true might not now be true, but what is true is still the truth...

Barfly was cool. It's about Bukowski if you weren't aware of it, costellopunk.

I, also, liked Some Kind Of Wonderful.

One that comes to mind is Soldier. Very good character role by Kurt Russell, having to supress a lot.

Re: One true thing

The truth remains constant. It may change, but it's always the truth. Don't know about that Rope. What was true 5 minutes ago may no longer be true; it evolves, like memory. The laws of physics might not change, but human perceptions do. And you might have just imagined you saw some UFOs, projectin...

('Cept for those of you in the southern hemi, of course-- to you, happy Winter Solstice!) 8) Thanks Mug. I can't wait till the days get longer and longer. The sun goes down at around 5 here now and it's soooo chilly for Sydney. At least the sun beams into my place at an angle in the afternoon (if I...

Pump It Up is a great pop song that could be taken for granted here just because it hasn't aged as well as Watching The Detectives. I prefer it as an EC pop moment but, on an overall basis, I prefer WTD. It's close.

I found all these songs somewhat annoying to begin with until I grew to like them. Which do you like best, and which do you like least?

The problem with this question is 'we'. It's far easier if you ask me whether I think killing a dude is worth doing, and if I know their mind. It's all so ridiculously hypothetical though. I wouldn't have a clue unless I'm in a situation.

I hate the 'we' mentality. No vote from me.
