Re: Nick Lowe Reissues, Expands Jesus of Cool
One of the best things about reissues isn't the "lost tracks" or the variations on the theme. It is that they force the original recording back to the 'front burner', and they remind you of the great feelings that are tethered to the songs, anchored somewhere in the past but still relevant...

Re: What are you listening to right now?
Oh my goodness, Herbie is definitely a force to be reckoned with.... His Miles Davis connections show as he ages. This record, and the brilliant "Gershwins World" prove him to be one of the most significant forces in jazz today. Thank God that someone is carrying the torch. All gone: Miles...

What the hell are you talking about Bamboo? I understand clever comments and the turn of a good phrase, but what the hell are you talking about? I know! You don't have any idea, do you. It was just time to weigh in with a negative to ingratiate yourself. Good play! However, you fall into the same ca...

" and she was " - Talking Heads Sorry Otis. What a great record. And Jaco's soloing on Dry Cleaner from Desmoines makes you want to weep for his untimely passing. "I never been a rich man, but you know, I always had a few dollars in my pocket" Mingus was exceedingly rich in what ...

FYI, Barack Obama is not a Muslim. Or did you know that already? Don't bother the man with details. WSS: Yes, I know that. But does Hillary? Are you sure? Are you Positive? I mentioned the 'panel' of possibly ascribed characteristics or traits to spark something that of course, guys like you won't ...

Re: The Politics of Politics: The Ride of a Lifetime
well obama should make a clean sweep of the umpteen primaries and cauci over the next 2 weeks and hopefully have enough mo to blow through ohio and even texas and then all this silliness will be over. Here is the real "silliness" post. Watch people run for cover, and cower because there I...

Which really does beg the question: "Do you, like So Lack, actually enjoy being a persistent asshole"
How does an adult find overt petulance to be humourous. I Can't imagine deriving enjoyment by being hateful. Can't imagine it.
Birds of a feather. Some day........

Looks like the usual suspects. I'd love to pay for your flight over Sam, but if I pay for yours I'd have to pay for Mr. Average and We Hit And Run....it would start to add up. But the beers would be on me. We'll be sure to look for moody in our spirits. I can assure you, you would have no worries a...

sorry, guys, I thought I was responding to Sam and was instead responding to Mr. A. I'm at work and busy with crap that I would rather be ignoring so that i could spend time solving the world's ills on EC fan forum. Sam, ignore my comments; Mr. A, go to town. I appreciate your thoughtful comments a...

I blew it. Thanks for the correction, as I definitely thought "A Simple Plan" was a Coen Bros film. It certainly has that feel. Doesn't change my impression of A Simple Plan, though. Great study in the cancer of greed.

I wasn't evangelizing. I was telling the board what my favorite gift is. I suppose that opens me to derogation and insult, in spite of the fact that it really was my favorite, with second place far behind. If I take peace and comfort in Faith and Family, so lack, why does that hurt you so much. God ...
