it's easier to wait until it appears on Amazon UK? more proof that EC reads this Board : https://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Play-Guitar-Words-Music/dp/1799790053/ref=sr_1_1?crid=AXIJU0680NQ&keywords=elvis+costello+how+to+play+guitar+and+y&qid=1653910922&sprefix=elvis+costello+ho%2Caps%2C60&am...

Surely an acoustic guitar will be involved?
This is a lovely venue, shame it's 293ish miles from where I live!!!

Super excited by this. MDC recently cancelled their show at St Michaels in the Hamlet which should have been tonight, obviously they got a 'better offer' to play with Steve in a couple of months. I wonder if they will allow him to incorporate playing the church's organ in the set?

MDC are now touring Country Darkness in UK and US . I thoroughly recommend this CD and for a mere £10 (inc postage) they will send you their disc with a poster and postcard included. I am sure other currencies are available. Two Liverpool gigs included in the schedule, I hope to get to the one in St...

This should be a really interesting read.

This is interesting discussion. I always hear his Scouse roots coming out in this pre-decimalisation pronunciation and on 'there's a tuppenny-ha’penny millionaire, looking for a fourpenny one' from Man out of Time.

Thanks for this MooT. I loved this, the antithesis of the Craig Charles Show on R6M. Talkative Elvis. Interesting stuff about new album and very moving account of the Defend Vinyl broadcast which he again describes as a wake for his mum. Well worth spending an hour with if IPlayer is available down ...

My guitar heros are Ry Cooder, Richard Thompson (acoustic), Martin Simpson and I wouldn't ever put EC at that virtuoso level player. But he does sell himself short. Arnie's right about his solo skills - here's a clip of his fingerstyle which shed new light on a couple of familiar tunes : https://www...

Yes - very strange although Guardian only bothers with 3 album reviews each week. Guardian on Saturday had a full page advert for Boy in their Saturday magazine section.

Very much looking forward to this. Defend Vinyl is my nearest record shop and where I will get my vinyl copy. I had expected that this would be an exercise in artistic licence and that the basement would in fact be located in Vancouver Island or NYC, however I am assured that it is actually taking p...

Re: EC & The Imposters with Charlie Sexton - UK Tour, June 2022

The ticket prices are my biggest concern. It was steep in 2020 and, with the 10% “convenience” presale ticket prices at some venues, the cost was over £100. I think you need to get that second job VG - just found James Taylor's doing a short UK tour next year, big venues, Manchester Apollo (3500 se...
