Re: Elvis when you least expect it

I was in the Halifax branch yesterday and imagine my surprise when Everyday I Write the Book came on the instore music syst...

Re: New Gig Thread

I was at the Sufjan show, having been introduced to him a couple of years ago by Sam and Otis. I can vouch for the review, it was a first rate show. Having seen Gorillaz (close up) at MSG and Al Green (also close up) at BB King's I'm a happy chappie these days. Next on the list is Gil Scott Heron at...

Re: My National Ransom Promotional Tour DVD Has Been Approve

Well if you could stretch this out to 14 chapters I think "Stations of The Cross (National Ransom in 14 Scenes)" would be appropriate.

Re: Hi-Fi shopping

Hi Otis, have you considered a CD recorder instead of the USB turntable? Sondek -> CD recording -> digital is an alternative to having two turntables and the sound will surely be better.

Otis - have you heard their version of Bowie's In The Heat of The Morning? My favourite Bowie cover since Edwyn's Gospel According To Tony Day

Now that's bizarre. Oracle are paying my flight and hotel to attend this conference, had no idea EC was part of the package . I'm getting a similar jolly from IBM too, but all that's on offer is Martin Short, EW&F and The Village People.

Re:

Leo Sayer has a new album with a song called Almost Blue on it......relax everyone, it is NOT the Elvis song, but a Leo Sayer original. Phew! As long as Elvis is not covering "You Make Me Feel Like Dancing", I think we're safe. I could see Elvis doing a cover of "When I Need You"...

McWrap or get off the pot

Noticed while on a short trip to Tokyo to visit my old Stamping Ground

http://www.mcdonalds.co.jp/mcwrap/

It's all in the pronunciation of course. In Japan it's pronounced mac-u-rap-u which sounds innocent enough, but I can't see the McWrap brand name taking off in England or the US

DVD of Elvis & Mingus Big Band Showcase, Brazil '97

Hi all

I have an 80 minute DVD, taken from VHS, of EC and the Mingus Big Band at the Free Jazz Festival '97. I haven't seen this on any download sites, is it rare?

9. Horns night (if only to realise my life long dream of hearing a live version of Party Party)
10. Following the succees of Bowie Low/Heathen shows, he should have a night where he does Imperial Bedroom and King of America in original running order, back to back.

So you resisted the temptation to list them I, II, III, IV etc. Would've done it myself if I could name 10 songs.

Recently watched a DVD of the Led Zep Live Aid outake. The appearnace by Phil Collins make me wish that Concorde had been taken out of service 15 years earlier. What was he thinking ?
