The songs are weak?

Hmm.

In my opinion, Brutal Youth is his strongest lyrical and vocal achievement.

I actually thought you looked like Ringo when I first looked at that icon.

so, should I take your 'no-responce-from-my-last-pm' as a "YOU BUTCHERED THIS SONG AND IT AINT GONNA BE ON THE TRIBUTE YOU LITTLE SNOTNOSED KID"?

It's great to hear that the album gets its respect.

I must have sounded crazy with my little "noone likes brutal youth" rant.

While all of the liner notes in the series have been fantastic, for me the Get Happy notes were the most enlightening and heartbreaking account of the Columbus, Ohio fiasco and portrayed the tone of the making of the album and the last days of the crash-and-burn final days of the "pop stardom&...

Atleast I learned to love it. I still prefer "Armed Forces"(however, I also prefer "Armed Forces" to eating).

The pictures are awesome, but the mp3s wont work. I'd love to hear the Kilborn one too... too bad I missed it.

Your favorite liner notes?

There have been 12 Rhino reissues thus far, and I own 11 of them. Therefore, I have not read the "Punch The Clock" liner notes yet, but you have to save something special for another day. I would say that my favorite set of liner notes as of now are those for "Mighty Like A Rose"...

I promised(kinda) I would, and I will.

I'll just send the files to anybody who needs them. My Cable connection should help.

I love the Brodskey's version of Pills and Soap. However, I look at them as evil manipulators who stole Evlis's red shoes.

Get Happy is an enigma.

I've never... not everrrrrr... met an Elvis fan who didn't adore Get Happy. But it took me a long, long time to get into it. I had to force feed it forever, and if it wasn't for New Amsterdam acting as a checkpoint in the cd, I may have never fully gotten some of the songs. The production sort of th...

Ricky and I were trying to remember if you said that you were doing "Possession" or that you knew the person who was doing it.

Brutal Youth!

I've read about "Get Happy!!!" being great and to the point and without a down moment. I've read about "Trust" being underrated and Elvis's best album despite its lack of hits. I even just read that "Blood and Chocolate" is, in a person's opinion... the end of Elvis's G...

Re: King Of America and Blood & Chocolate: The 1986 Albu

I definitly see where you're coming from. "Blood And Chocolate" is one of my favorite albums, and I'm sure by the time I get the King Of America Reissue(in 2010), it will be up there as well. The fact that Elvis could record two albums withint 6 months is unbelievable, nevermind the drasti...

Was that really Robert DeNiro? I'm sort of a cultural idiot but I thought it looked like Martin Scorcese. (Actually I thought it was Leonard Bernstein but then I thought, hang on, I'm pretty sure he's dead..) "What if it was Leonard Bernstein?" - MR. John Fontaine. If you have voiceacting...

Re: boston comment

I'm still coping with the fact that Elvis didnt just write the song "Uncomplicated" and is not on the second leg of his spinning-wheel-of-songs tour. =[

So yeah, you win.
