I do encourage folks to check out Franz Ferdinand beyond their radio presence. On the current record, there are some beautiful songs. They certainly have that driving, upbeat tempo-changing stuff you hear on the radio, which I like very much, but I think it's by delving into their 'prettier' side t...

Its from 'Hours..' and I meant 05. I'm sorry, I've had a long weekend. I'll go change it. Shame! It was more fun when you were time-travelling. Bugger me, closing track of Hours and I absolutely couldn't place it. I played Hours about twice, such a dull record. I heard enough of the better songs on...

I just filled my dj (15gb) with everything I had lying around the house on one massive playlist. Its very entertianing to see the strange combinations it throws at me.

I have the I'll Wear it Proudly cover, and if someone knows of a way to move music from a portable device (say, a dell dj) to a computer I'll share it. Its a wonderful cover and merits the effort.

Re: It's The New Thing

Arcade Fire The more I play Funeral, the more I'm awestruck. It's such an original work, a feeling all of its own. OK I'm even more enthused knowing that Bowie is a fan and they've done both Five Years and Queen Bitch together, and that had me reaching for the CD today, but boy is it a cracker. The...

Since when does becoming a rockstar mean you cant express your politcal beliefs, be they popular or not? And, by the way, the amount of cheering every time I've heard this version played is a pretty good indication that these happen to be popular beliefs.

I dont really get the problem wuth BY either. Sure, its rough, but it works for that batch of songs. My only problem with GCW's production is how poorly all the insturment and vocal parts blend. All of the other Attractions stuff (and the recent stuff! I dont want to get jumped!) sounds more cohesiv...

The link's farked, so I can check, but I do remember it saying something about album and single sales. Could the single factor in? I'm sure with his many "hits" like Veronica, he's sold quite a few, and they wouldnt count towards normal album sales.

I lay it on the corrupting influence of Burt Bacharach - working with him would make anyone sell out.

Brilliant! Repeat the same arguement, still not giving any rhyme or reason as to why! You must do this for a living... Anyways, I like this album too. I agree with most of whats been said about it already, but I really like it because its fun to listen to. I love IB, but it drains me. This is...

The stage was set for EH and LC to come back on, but the rest of the band walked out, Elvis with another guitar (the roadie was holding one out, he was ignored) and went into it. Brill...
