Due to unforseen circumstances I have two tickets on offer for St. James Theatre.
If anyone wants them and lets me know by 11.00 am tomorrow then I can 'Special Delivery' them to reach a buyer by Monday 1.00pm.
Shame to waste them, it's just not possible for us to go now
A strange 'dis-connected' sort of review, as if the reviewer wasn't actually there and just downloaded various bits of info from the 'net'.
The drummer for Larkin Poe was actually a session player from Atlanta called Darren Stanley !!!!!!!!
Basingstoke was great and good to catch up with everyone, Me and Mrs LF also sang "oh why's that ?" during Red Shoes as we have done at all four gigs we attended. Interesting to read VG's thoughts and reflections, I think it that generally the UK tour was a success even if the vocals were ...
Another great gig and happened, (quite by chance), to be seated next to Sulky. I totally agree that the voice was a bit off. I first noticed it at Ghost Train and as far as I could tell is was pretty much 'damage limitation' from EC after that. He still gave it everything and I don't think the major...
I'm going, (hopefully). I say that because I'm going with a friend who has proved to be somewhat of a jinx as regards Costello gigs. I am a veteran of over 35 years and 'introduced' my friend to the wonderful world of Costello relatively recently. The first gig that I encouraged him to buy a ticket ...
Yes, that's me. I had a fairly rigid time frame and had to be in the UK for work on Thursday so the Tuesday show was my only opportunity. Would have loved to caught the second show but sadly time did not allow.
I only attended one show so my score is low but I did fly 3,500 miles from the UK to see it !!!!!!!, I suppose I could add the tally from the four Revolver shows I saw this summer but that might be cheating.
Just got back to UK, so far 26 hours without sleep. The moral of the story is don't fly out of JFK on Thanksgiving !!!!!!!!!!!! I had a good show and it was great to meet Mike the Lawyer. Got pretty much soaked with rain on journey back to NYC. Overall a great experience and glad that I made the eff...
I can't remember which thread it was but recently, (within the last four or five days), someone posted a solo tour 'template' which you could fill in and print out, thus achieving your goal with minimum effort.
I saw Glenn Tilbrook one week ago and he no longer seems to sell the live show recordings. I saw him at the same venue almost exactly two years ago when he did have the after show recordings. The CD is a cherished possession, (especially as he signed it), but I am quite happy that the last 90 minute...
I'm going too, really looking forward to it, It will be my 5th EC gig this year, (4 Revolver shows in the UK), hoping to meet up with some forum followers and having a great evening.
I will be fortunate enough to be at a 'solo gig' later this month. My birthday is 27th December and in 1982 I was at the Albert Hall and heard his rendition of this song. I also have a very indistinct 'bootleg' copy on a C90 cassette. I have attended about 50 Costello gigs since and never heard it a...
Have managed a few 'listens to' now and initial reaction is good but there are very few tracks that have a traditional melody. I guess that's probably the appeal. A number of reviews I have read say that the original intention was to re-work some back catalogue Costello but this idea was ditched in ...
