Well said, Lapinsjolis. I accept your admonishment and take it to heart. Truly, the parent in me again raised its ugly head and I reacted to an insane title of a thread...a title that is penned only to serve as an outrageous attention-getter. I stand by my comments re: the continual need for attenti...

You go, girl! In nearly 1000 posts on this and past versions of this forum, I estimate that less than 10% were contentious in any way. There was no need. But as time has passed, the unfettered personal slams, anti-spiritual, and unpatriotic themes have grown exponentially by some of the 'heavy' cont...

The Ride - Los Lobos
While not one of the best, this will be nominated for a Grammy. Whatever that might mean to you... It is an astounding compilation of new and old Los Lobos songs characterized by Outstanding performances by all (Dave Alvin is under-utilized...the Blasters and Los Lobos shared audiences and musicians...

These are Cliches? Really? God Bless America is not a cliche'. And Using the name of God to murder innocents is not a cliche'. It is a brutal reality that, if you don't face, will afflict you in your lifetime. Face it. It is here to stay unless you fight it. London burned not to long ago by a simila...

Blue, thank you for a great response. In point of fact, I do not disagree with much of what you posted. Your wording was thoughtful and cautious, without betraying your true sentiment. Two questions: 1, Was your reference to the 'white' Wall Street Journal reporter (who merely transcribed quotations...

Al Gore is now considered to be nothing more than a footnote in history. He is a caricature of his former self. Now he is a shill for the Democratic National Committee. He is NOT a shill for Kerry. The speeches which sound as if someone has let Gore out of the dayroom a bit early are well calibrated...

Iraqi Gratitude
From today's Wall Street Journal: A myth has developed that Iraqi's are not grateful for their liberation from Saddam. So it is worth noting that the leaders of Iraq's new interim government have been explicit and gracious in their thanks...not that you have heard this from the US media. First in Ar...

Stripped Jack Naked is Mr. Average. I have outed myself. After my last series of posts (about one month ago) I made a decision to withdraw from the board and invest my God-given talents and skills where they would make a difference. My input within this forum was, in my opinion, counterproductive be...

The unfathomable hate and spite of the left creeps out from the posts of a few here. First, El Vez recounts (cautiously, and always with a keen focus to what is politically 'safe') historical accuracy. He posts with forethought and honesty. The WORLD became a much better place because of the retired...

Far to many cool variations, but in general: The intonation during parts of Episode of Blonde are Dylanesque. The vocals on Distorted Angel have a sound that, to me, sounds like a homage to Paul Weller. On the 5 CD live set, Costello And Nieve...the vocal play with the keyboards is, in places, magic...

Mr. Average = Stripped Jack Naked
Mr. Average has been assassinated by the perpetual log in with no ability to log out (invalid session) and no ability to post (invalid session). Either the board just doesn't like me or I am failing to get your message.... While it appears that I have been lurking on-line for days, I have not. I hav...
